The Iloilo Provincial Government Public Employment Service Office (PESO) assisted two Family and Income Management Training (FIMT) spearheaded by Atikha, Inc. at Jaro, Iloilo City and Passi City, respectively.
On August 11, 2018 at the Archbishops Residence, Jaro, Iloilo City, FIMT was organized through the efforts of Jaro Archdiocesan Council for Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People (JACMI) headed by Rev. Fr. Arvin Lagardo.
Meanwhile, Passi City’s FIMT was realized on August 31, 2018 thanks to their LGU’s Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions (LEDIP) Unit through Mr. Roy Diaz, Investment Relation Officer.
FIMT is a series of seminars for organized OFWs and their families in Western Visayas. This is part of Atikha’s Go Earn Achieve Return (GEAR) UP Reintegration Program for Domestic Workers
launched in June. This reintegration program is being implemented by Atikha, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO).
The Province of Iloilo, through its Migration and Development Initiative under PESO, has been supporting this program and considered it as a helpful complement in IPG’s thrust of maximizing the gains and minimizing the cost of migration among Ilonggo OFWs and their families.
