Acting Iloilo Provincial Administrator Atty. Suzette Mamon assures participants of the support from the provincial government in advancing the cause and welfare of the Ilonggo migrants and their families.

Some 250 Ilonggo Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and their families gathered at Iloilo Provincial Capitol on December 1, 2018 for the first provincial Migrants Family Day organized by the Iloilo Provincial Migration and Development Committee and Public Employment Service Office in partnership with Jaro Archdiocesan Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People (JACMI), ATIKHA Western Visayas, PINOYWISE, and Seafarers Wives and Families Association of Visayas (SWAVI).

It was participated in by different OFW groups in the province and city of Iloilo, regional government agencies, and migrant group guests from Guimaras and Capiz.

Iloilo Provincial OIC Administrator Atty. Suzette Mamon welcomed the delegates and acknowledged the contribution of OFWs in the economic development of the province and likewise assured them of the support from the provincial government.

There were also presentations of DOLE and TESDA programs and testimonials from returning Ilonggo OFWs and those currently working abroad.

Other highlights included migrants groups’ dance and song presentations and raffle draws courtesy of private sponsors.
