To improve the implementation and promotion of the BaLinkBayan Project in the province, the Iloilo Provincial Government is taking part in the three-session Online Writing Content Writeshop organized by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) on June 21-23, 2022.

The three-session workshop will focus on the rules of communications and their corresponding application to content writing for newsletters and social media platforms.

Retired CFO  chairperson and secretary Justice Francisco P. Acosta said the workshop is intended for all the BaLinBayan partners of the commission.

“This training aims to improve the confidence of the participants in writing as they package information that will interest the public and populate their BaLinkBayan websites with more data and content,” said Acosta.

Participants from Iloilo Province are staff from the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in charge of the administration of the webpage.

BaLinkBayan, a quip on the Filipino word balikbayan (a returning overseas Filipino), is a means to connect Filipino individuals and communities to the Philippines through the Diaspora to Development (D2D) program of the CFO. This program promotes and supports diaspora-driven initiatives such as investment, philanthropy, and technology and skills transfer.

BaLinkbayan Project started in Iloilo Province in 2017 to address the need of a streamlined system of engagement for overseas Ilonggos. / Jayrel Encontro, PESO
